The Apache 3 USV demonstration for the potential clients in Romania
Marine Research LTD successfully demonstrated Apache 3 USV for potential clients in Romania.
In February 2022, Marine Research LTD., our partner in Romania, successfully conducted a one-day live demonstration of the Apache 3 USV solution for three organizations, AFDJ, Apele Romane, and Hidroelectrica, that are water, river, and energy administrations and companies. The demonstration was managed near the Danube River, showcasing CHCNAV's latest hydrographic technologies and solutions.

CHCNAV marine drone solutions
CHC Navigation (CHCNAV) integrates high-performance marine drones, rugged GNSS positioning and heading sensors, and echo sounders into a complete solution for marine surveying and construction professionals to conduct typical hydrographic and bathymetric surveying and mapping projects in the coastal and inland shallow waters.
Marine Research introduced Apache 3 USV with single beam echosounder, Apache 4 USV with integrated ADCP and single beam echosounder, and Apache 6 USV with Norbit multibeam echosounder. Those are all the unmanned marine drones engineered to access waters, from the coastal zones, ports, and harbors, to inland waterways or lakes, which are too shallow for traditional manned survey vessels to access. In addition, USVs can be equipped with various instruments such as single or multibeam echo sounders, ADCP, and other sensors. Our partners also presented the results of a comparison between the single beam and multibeam survey.

Marine Research introduced the manual and automatic operation modes and Auto Planner and Hydro Survey measurement software during the demonstration. They preplanned the route in the software, and then Apache 3 automatically took measurements along the plotted lines. Apache 3 can use 4G capabilities to eliminate communication distance limitations in the mobile network coverage area.

"We are impressed with the CHCNAV's marine solutions, its portability, flexibility, and affordable cost," said one of the attendees. "After this demonstration, I am confident that the Apache USV matches for SonTek ADCPs we purchased to measure the velocities and flows."
